As far gaming websites are concerned, william hill poker has made its way through several others to become one of the most popular. Online casino games allow players from any corner of the world, with an internet connection, to access its rooms. Real life casinos are usually located in major cities rather than at a remote village on a hill. People living in such locations may have to travel for hours to get to one. Playing it online would be a more cost and time effective option in such a situation.

People visiting a real casino dont get many chances to practise and improve on their game. They may need to challenge the seasoned regulars who come every day. This may not be feasible for them and a bit unfair as well. It would better for beginners if they practise the game in online casino before venturing into the real games. It could virtually get them started for free rather than a series of losses.

Online online gambling casino use a browser based system or a software which needs to be installed on your computer. Softwares allow a greater deal of automation during game play. It provides a more securely monitored environment which keep record of everything for you. The moves of all the players get registered on the database for tracking purposes. It eliminates the chances of cheating to a significant extent. The traditional poker face is not needed as no one can see others anyway. It lets everyone start with an equal footing.

online video poker softwares are pretty easy to use and self explanatory. If anything seems confusing, there are guides available. Most online casinos have a support group to help you out. Questions may be asked on forums for experienced players to respond. Its not a surprise that online poker games websites have their revenues running in billions each year. This can only be expected to increase with the new features being introduced every month. Poker rooms have all kinds of players online at the same time. Its best to practise with friends or at rooms for beginners. This would allow you to get the hang of how things work and avoid obvious mistakes due to lack of knowledge.

Difference between playing poker online and live
Difference between playing poker online and live The game is the same up to a point, thats true. But theres a difference between playing poker online and playing the game in a casino. The truth is, many people prefer to play it online because of the different options available and the convenience factor. If you are new to playing poker, its probably best to get started online and practice until you actually win at poker before you go to any brick and mortar casinos. You can advance your skill level pretty quickly online, probably faster than you can in a regular casino. Winning Online Might Be Easier Playing poker online is easier on your bottom line. Most gamblers know that; whether they want to admit it is a different story. Deciding to play online means you can loosen up by playing a couple free games before getting down to business. You also save on gas money, and you have a huge number of poker rooms to choose from. Playing poker online is becoming the preferred method for more and more players. The rake is smaller in online poker rooms, too. The rake can be incredibly low, depending on the game you are playing. Also, lots of poker rooms offer bonuses when you first sign up, and then when you keep going back. They want to keep you as a customer and they know promotions and bonuses are what many players are looking for. Brick and mortar casinos cannot compete when it comes to the prizes that online poker rooms offer their players. If you are new to playing poker, you cant beat playing online. You can get a signup bonus and reload bonuses from almost every online casino. You know what that means, right? It means you can make your mistakes playing with someone elses money. It is so much easier on the wallet when you learn how to play poker online as opposed to going to a land casino. There really is no comparison. Make sure you know the basics of poker strategy, because without studying the game and learning the basics of strategy, you might just as well play lotto online. Have Fun And Earn Money Playing Poker Online Sure, when you start playing online poker you might wind up missing the social interaction that you normally get in a bricks and mortar casino. But remember you can find buddies online to interact with if you really need to. Most people find the benefits, convenience and comfort of playing online poker far outweigh any disadvantages. You simply gain more experience, and quicker, when you start playing online poker. You can even play more than one game at the same time. Some players get so good at it they might start playing five or six games at the same time. You might not want to go that far, but you can if you want to. You probably already know how some poker players can go on a run, where the cards seem magic and they cant help but to win. Hopefully, that can happen to you. Finally, theres no way you can beat the convenience of playing poker online. You dont have to worry about what you are wearing or even what time of the day or night it is. No matter what kind of poker game youre looking for, you can find it on the internet. Probably with bonuses and promotions galore, too. What are you waiting for?

Wikipedia Blackout
Poker Legal Issues, Seizure of Poker Domains January 18th, 2012 How will the Wikipedia Blackout effect poker and poker sites in general? Its a possibility that poker blogs, poker strategy, and sits that contain poker bios will receive an influx of traffic because of the Wikipedia Blackout. Poker fans will be Googling poker pros like they normally do but will not find the content on Wikipedia as they normally would. Wikipedia ranks one or page one for many poker bios and poker terms in general. When fans cannot get the info, they may go down to the next site, thus increasing the traffic. Google ranks Wikipedia high for many terms because of the links coming in and the fact that there are no ads. Google loves when sites dont have advertising unless they are google ads of course. The US government has in a sense already blacked out poker from the internet. On April 16th, the DOJ seized the domain names of several leading poker sites who do not even operate from the USA. They did this based on laws that were passed in the middle of the night and attached to a port security bill and that did not even apply to online poker. Im happy that Google and Wikipedia oppose the blackout, although I would like to ad that Google has acted just how these movie and record companies act. They limit the growth of the internet by punishing sites who use alternatives to Google. They have a monopoly on search of the internet (as every webmaster knows by looking at their stats). To conclude Id like to say that I applaud the efforts of Wikipedia and suggest a blackout of Google if they continue their monopolistic practices.

Strategy with Kristy Podcast: Kane “Nascar_1949″ Kalas
December 01 2011, Kristy Arnett Related Articles Strategy with Kristy: Andrew Robl Discusses Televised Cash Game Hands Strategy with Kristy: Andrew Seidman Discusses His Book, Easy Game Strategy with Kristy Podcast: Olivier Busquet Discusses Tough Spots Share It Tags PokerNews Podcast, PokerNews Strategy, Cash Poker, Texas Holdem Print Kane “Nascar_1949″ Kalas, 22, is a video instructor on the Poker Phenom training website. In the first two months of playing poker professionally, Kalas went from playing $0.50/$1 to $25/$50 no-limit hold’em. He continues to play high-stakes cash games online and recently moved from Miami, Florida, to Costa Rica. For this edition of Strategy with Kristy, brought to you by South Point, Kalas talks in depth about playing small pocket pairs in six-max no-limit hold’em cash games, demonstrated by hand histories in a $25/$50 game. Here is a snippet from the interview: Let’s talk about the first hand. You open to $128 from under the gun with pocket sixes. An opponent named, “Flufferd” reraises to $400 from the big blind. What are your thoughts on when you can flat a hand like this in position? First of all, “Flufferd’s” raise size was pretty small. He made it $400, and I’d expect most people to make it $450 or in the high $400s. That definitely gave me a little incentive to call. Also, the fact that he three-bet out of the blinds is pertinent in this situation. I probably would very rarely be calling with pocket pairs 100 big blinds deep out of position versus a regular player. I haven’t played too much with “Flufferd,” but I think based on his play, he was competent. When you get 200 or 300 big blinds deep, it becomes much more lucrative when you’re out of position. In this case, though, I was in position and getting a good price to call. I do think that “Flufferd” has a tight range since I opened under the gun, however, if he’s running a HUD [heads-up display], he probably knows I open more than most players under the gun. That could make his three-bet a little bit lighter, but nonetheless, I expect him to have a pretty tight range here. I’m looking to flop a set or a board where I can continue. Of course, there are a lot of boards I’m giving up on, but I’m just getting such a good price in position, especially to play for stacks on a good flop against a relatively tight range. And the flop is . He checks to you. Tell me about why you decided betting is better than slow-playing. I really like a bet here as part of my entire range. I think that checking back a set here may be lucrative in a vacuum, but for my range, I actually want to be betting here quite a lot. This is a board where my opponent is likely to be check-folding a decent amount of hands. It’s very unlikely he’s three-betting pocket sixes, sevens, nines or eight-ten out of the blinds. It’s much more likely that I have those hands defending the three-bet. My range hits this board a whole lot harder than his, so when he checks here, I want to be betting with my pocket sixes or with whatever hands I could have here on a bluff. In this spot, he ended up check-folding. I imagine he had something like ace-king or ace-queen that he was just taking a check-folding line with. I would expect him to check-call with an overpair sometimes. Although, I would expect him to bet that on the flop. Just in terms overall, I think I should be betting this board with my sets and all my air. Also remember to follow PokerNews on Twitter for up-to-the-minute news. *Photo courtesy of Zimbio.com Follow Kristy Arnett on Twitter @KristyArnett Comments I’m sorry that I’m so late to posting the comments.I really disliked your guest’s defending his ideas by stating that “game theory says…”, “the math says…”, without ever explaining what he was doing and then contradicting himself quite a lot. For example, in the hand where he arrives on a river with a full house and he decides to overbet it because of opponent’s capped range, I would really love to see an indifference equation that requires overbetting. You say game theory dictates it, so either work it out or point me a link where you read it (watched it in a video). In fact, I counter with Mathematics of Poker Chapter 15 – Appendix, the NL AKQ game. Which is exactly the situation we are facing. We have the Ace (nuttish type hand), the opponent’s range is capped (he has either the K – bluffcatcher or the Q – nut lows). When having a perceived polarized range by opponent the strategy is mixed – you check sometimes to let opponent bluff off and when you bet, you bet about 30% of the pot, never overbet. If he wants to show me some equations that prove me different without invoking exploitative play, I would be most welcome, but at a certain point the overbet IS NOT dictated by game theory, but by opponent exploitation (meta). Then he started contradicting himself, first saying we have a polarized range (value bets and bluffes) and a few minutes later he says we should bet 100% of our range. Well, which one is it? Like would you overbet a pocket pair here that doesn’t set you, i.e. would you overbet a bluffcatcher to merge your range? Again, I mostly agreed with his lines (not all) and I’m sure he beats up high stakes all good, but his reasoning seemed really poor and cloaked with difficult words.

Dealing with Sore Losers
Once in your poker playing life, youll come across one or more players that simply cant step to the beat of losing and winning. These people are those who probably think they should win simply because their opponents seemed to be winning the entire day, which is not a good excuse for losing badly in poker matches. Sometimes, these people are players of online poker who is relatively vulnerable to tilts and emotional overload. These people attitude can range from mildly annoying to downright nasty. Playing with these kinds of players is not a major issue in online poker. It is something poker sharks are actually waiting for to have players make a fool out of themselves and waste even more money on aggressive behavior. While you can very much take advantage of this emotional weakness in a live table, it pays to know what should be done when youre opponents emotional barometer go into overdrive. Take Advantage Live poker matches allows you to put all of your abilities to full use because it allows you to see, hear, and feel the way your opponents play the game (while possible, it is not recommended that you smell or taste your opponent). This is the main source of players frustration because, like we all know, some players are more adept in shuffling cards than in winning a dealt hand. This reaction is normal, but not all players can control it, and those who do have the upper hand in terms of winning in poker matches. You can exploit these weaknesses. You dont even have to provoke him to increase his anger. Emotional outbursts allow you more time to study your hand and more opportunities to study his behavior. Learn how he deals with a strong or a weak hand based on the way his body reacts to a dealt hand. If you have established the pattern and make considerably good choices of moves on the information that you have, you can own the player until he becomes conscious of what he has been doing, or until he ran out of chips to spend. Protect Yourself Sometimes, the emotional outburst become either disruptive or threatening steps are needed to be directed in response to it. While it is tempting to resolve the issue by shoving a closed fist into the perpetrators open mouth, it pays to let the dealer know about the commotion and seek help from him. He and the casino people can deal with unpleasant behavior better than a closed fist. For your part, remember how costly it is to tilt, so better keep your emotional bearings in check and let the casino people do its job.

How to Achieve Your New Years Resolution
December 23 2011, Jared Tendler Related Articles Stay Stacked: Understanding Motivation Stay Stacked: You (Don’t) Snooze, You Lose Stay Stacked: That 55th Minute is More Vital Than You Think Share It Tags Poker Strategy, Poker Players Print Shortly after the calendar turns to 2012, thousands of people around the globe will begin a New Years resolution to lose weight, exercise more, or spend more time with family. Poker players are doing the same thing. Theyre making poker goals to grind a ton of poker, stop tilting, move up in stakes, make Supernova or Supernova Elite, win more money, study more, get a coach, post more hands, etc,. Unfortunately, most people or poker players wont see their grand declarations stick very long. Weve all been there, myself included. A recent study showed that only 12 percent of people who made New Years resolutions achieved their goals. The two important questions this article attempts to answer is: Why do people fail to achieve their goals or resolutions? Whats a better strategy to achieve them? One of the most common reasons resolutions or goals fail, is that players forget they are not just trying to accomplish something new, they are also trying to eliminate an old habit. Lets say you want to increase the amount of poker youre playing. You decide you want to go from playing 25 hours per week, to 35. Increasing that isnt just about adding 10 more hours (which by the way is 40 percent increase in capacity), its also about eliminating the things you would tend to do in that time. Not only are you trying to increase your ability to play more, you are also trying to stop yourself from browsing forums, watching TV, Skype chatting with friends, and quitting early to do other things. Often the inspiration around a new goal can make it appear that its going to be easy for all these habits to disappear. They disappear in the short-term, because of that inspiration. But, once that early surge of inspiration wears off, the gravity of these patterns brings you back down to the reality that you have to fix them, otherwise your resolution becomes just another failed idea. To help make 2012 a successful year, Ive put together a step-by-step guide to make it easier to accomplish your resolutions and goals. Many of the common missteps that derail your efforts are not too hard to fix with the right information. 1. Decide What You Want A common problem in poker happens when players have too many goals. They start thinking about what they want to accomplish this year, or what bad habits to break from last year, and a lot comes to mind. It starts with wanting to play more, then playing more tables, making more money, and maybe go for Supernova Elite. Heck, why not study 10 more hours per week, play the WSOP Main Event, and move up several limits too! This sounds good in theory, but trying to accomplish too much almost assures that youll accomplish very little. When you want too much, the mind is divided and you dont have enough focus to accomplish the priorities. Essentially youre multitasking and you can do many things OK, rather than a few really well. Narrowing your focus on your biggest goals is essential because it means youre automatically going be less focused on things that dont matter, and more focused on the stuff that really does. Keep in mind too, if you do a few things really well this year youll have greater potential to do even more next year. 2. Know Why You Want It Most players focus the majority of their time on the what and leave the why as an afterthought. Knowing “why” is critical because it helps you clarify your goals and you can use it to get yourself back on track. Big goals are a challenge. Remembering why you want to achieve that goal is a great motivator to keep you working towards it, while avoiding distractions, being lazy, or totally bailing. Take some time and figure out specifically the underlying reasons or motives for achieving your goals. These could be any number of things such as: fame, money, achievement, mastering a skill, the challenge, learning, or just for motivation. Once you have the list, write them next to your goals and review them regularly for a few weeks. 3. Plan How You Are Going To Accomplish It Create a realistic plan around your goal by analyzing where youre strong and where youre weak. To have any chance of accomplishing this goal you have to know what you are and are not capable of. Take an honest look at your skill set and then develop a realistic plan for how youll achieve success. Lets say your goal is to take poker more seriously and for you that means playing 120 hours per month, studying 40 hours per month, scheduling your week, getting coaching, and of course improve your mental game. In order to reach that goal, you need to first know what you did last year. Even though youre taking this year more seriously, looking at where you were strong and weak in each part of this goal establishes your baseline. Your baseline is how you evaluate progress and without it your just guessing. On the one hand it may seem simple, but its not. Having unrealistic views of their current skill set is a major reason why people fail to accomplish their goals or resolutions. 4. Prepare For Obstacles When first establishing a goal, the likelihood that youll succeed seems much easier in your mind than it will actually be in reality. In your mind, it can almost seem as though nothing can stop you. Its as if you’ll get there easily until youre faced with your first real challenge. At some point in the year youre going to face some kind of challenge. These setbacks have the potential to completely derail you, unless youre prepared. That doesnt mean you have to be prepared for every conceivable problem that might come along the way. Instead, just being ready for any problem means youll handle it far better than believing in the illusion that youll accomplish your goal without facing one. The most common reason resolutions and goals fail is old habits. When youre trying to reach a goal, or create new habits in poker or your life, old habits truly die hard. You dont live in a vacuum. Your old ways of approaching poker are gone just because its 2012 and not in 2011. They dont disappear just because the calendar has changed. Before you get started on your journey, here are a few ways to tackle bumps in the road: At the beginning of every day, read your goals and the reasons you want them. Analyze the biggest problems that are likely to get in your way and develop a plan of attack for each. Create a daily routine that you follow regularly, and especially when faced with tough times. Think back to times in the past when youve succeeded at doing something difficult and write about how you did it. Get help from others. Its your battle, but having support from others can go a long way. Put your head down and bear through it remove additional distractions. Take a break. If youve only been pushing hard, rest can be much needed. 5. Inspiration When You Fail Being inspired is often the fuel that leads some people and players to achieve things greater than they could have imagined. As it relates to achieving your goals or your resolutions, inspiration is critical to keeping you on track when you hit bumps along the road. At times when your goals might be derailed, inspiration gets you back moving forward again. Inspiration is an energy boost that can be tapped finding the things that remind you of why your working hard for you goals. It could be a movie, a song, a quote, a speech, a letter, a painting from your kid anything really. Inspiration comes from many places, some too random to predict. So put together a “greatest hits” of things that inspire you. Its a compilation of sorts that you can go back to when you need a strong reminder why its worth it to keep fighting. 6. Tracking Progress Only after youve accomplished your goal will you know precisely what it took to achieve them. That means, when you set your plan at the beginning you were making your best estimate or prediction about what it would take. Often youre wrong even if you took a lot of time at the beginning to map out a plan. Missteps are inevitable, and often, it’s only once you get into actually working towards your goal that youre able to identify what wasnt working. In other words, dont get bogged down planning. If youre tracking progress, itll be easy for you to adjust your plan so you can work efficiently towards your goal. Tracking progress is how you are able to stop missteps early, so you arent completely derailed. By taking notes, daily, weekly, or at least monthly about your progress, you can find out quickly whats working, whats not, and what adjustments you need to make to stay on course. Plus, if you run into major trouble along the way, having this paper trail allows you to get back on track quickly. Follow these steps and youll be on your way making 2012 a great year! Make it a year where you accomplish great things by working harder and smarter than ever before.
